BITE SIZED FRUIT PIES

Writer's picture: Judy PeckJudy Peck

These apple pies are truly one a tiny bite, but they have a BIG flavor. Only 5 ingredients & you will have them ready to gobble up in 30 minutes or less, and that’s probably the best part part. There is nothing like a miniature apple pie on demand.

You can even do pie ala mode and dip them in vanilla ice cream. I suggest you enjoy them for desert with the rest of your friends and family, and not be 'too' tempted to exceed your'bite limit'. Use any canned apple, cherry, pear, peach, or fruit pie mix you are craving.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can sliced fruit pie mix (The sugar is already in there.)

  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

  • 1/2 teaspoons ground cardamom

  • 1 package of tortillas (I use gluten free)

  • half a stick of butter, melted

  • 2 (more) tablespoons cinnamon

  • 4 (more)tablespoons cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.

Open the can of apples – pour into a medium bowl and stir in the top 5 spices.

Lay open one of the tortillas as a crusts & brush with the melted butter.

Mix the last two ingredients in a small bowl. Sprinkle a good helping of them on top top. Repeat with another other tortilla as pie crust. Cut both tortillas into 10 strips.

Roll the apple wedges up like a mummy in the pie crust strips.

Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray or Baker’s Secret – or line the baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll the apple wedges up like a mummy in the pie crust strips. Cut a couple of slices in the crust tops. Place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.

Brush with more butter and sprinkle more cinnamon sugar on top.

Bake the mini apple pies for 8-10 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes, then transfer the pies with a spatula to a plate.

We know your temptation... so deduct that secret bite from your daily count... right now... and let the plate pass by at desert time...

If you try these ... let me know!
