With a long list of health issues, we each take a boat load of meds and vitamins first thing in the morning... so we cannot take them on an empty stomach.... thus... brunch.

Now, mind you, the foods shown here are leftovers from three different meals, displayed to give you an idea of what to do also. Just because you are restricting the size and amount of food consumed does not mean you need to eat a boring meal. Get creative, share, and let your taste buds run wild! Your sense of taste is a blessing. Your weight problem is a blessing ran wild. Now take that freedom and experiment with flavors and find the foods that honestly thrill you! Then slowly, yes slowly, savor every single morsel!

Because I'm celiac I make a wicked rice flower pancake that I either cover in fruit and homemade syrup or pulled chicken in a cumin and topped with hot peppers and rice flour gravy.

We each have a cup of hibiscus yarrow tea, laced with an 1/8 teaspoon each of ginger, turmeric, clove, cinnamon, & cayenne, with our daily vitamins & meds.

On the alternate days we have a small bowl of oatmeal. Often we splurge and fry up some turkey or veggie bacon, share scrambled eggs, or an omelet. Not your ordinary egg dishes!! We filled ours, without measuring, tons of pepper jack cheese, turkey sausage, Ro-tel's spicy roasted tomatoes with peppers and love each and ever spoonfuls that is allowed.

What a way to take morning meds and and start the day with food so delicious you feel like you were spoiled royalty.

Tell us what kinds of ways you get creative on your 5 Bite meals.
